Mock Interview for Internship: Questions and How to Prepare

Internship interviews are usually 30–45 minutes with one or two interviewers. They focus on your fundamentals, your ability to learn, and your communication — not years of experience you cannot have yet.

The panel mostly reads your resume before you talk. Weak projects or inflated skills will surface quickly, so keep the resume honest and interview-ready.

Expect: walk me through your resume, your favorite project, a technical question tied to your stated skills, a basic coding or logic question, and availability questions (months, hours, college rules).

For product companies, add scenario questions: how would you debug X, how would you design a small feature, what would you do if your teammate is not contributing. These test thinking out loud.

Day 1–2: rewrite your resume with the internship JD in mind and list every skill you claimed. Day 3: prepare 2-minute answers for your top 3 projects. Day 4: mock HR + project round. Day 5: mock technical + coding round. Day 6: review recordings, fix one weak answer. Day 7: rest and light review.

If the internship has an online assessment, practice 2–3 timed coding problems in the same week — the OA is often the hardest filter.
