Mock Interview Questions for Freshers: HR and Technical

Tell me about yourself. Introduce yourself in 60 seconds — name, degree and college, skills, one project, and why you are applying. No life story, no reading from the resume.

Why this company? Link the company's business, your skills, and your goals. Why this role? Reference the JD's responsibilities. Strengths and weaknesses: pick one real strength with proof and one weakness you are actively fixing.

Also prepare: why should we hire you, where do you see yourself in 5 years, do you have any questions for us. The last one always counts — prepare 2–3 thoughtful questions.

For service-based companies, expect OOP concepts (encapsulation, polymorphism), SQL basics (joins, keys), DBMS (normalization, transactions), and simple data structures with real examples.

For product companies, expect more depth: explain a project architecture, API design choices, database schema decisions, and how you would debug a failing service. Answer with a mini-framework: definition, example from your project, tradeoff.

Walk me through your project: problem, stack, your specific contribution, and result in 2 minutes. What was the hardest bug? How would you scale this? What would you do differently?

Practice project questions the most — fresher interviews spend the largest share of time here. If you cannot explain a project in your resume clearly, interviewers assume you did not build it.

Practice arrays, strings, hash maps, two pointers, and basic recursion aloud: state the approach, complexity, and edge cases. TCS-style rounds use easy-medium problems; Amazon OA uses medium with time limits.
