TCS Interview Process for Freshers: All Rounds Explained
TCS interview process for freshers — technical, managerial, and HR rounds, what each panel asks, and how to prepare for every stage.
TCS interviews usually run three rounds in one day. Here is what each panel checks and how to prepare for all of them.
Round 1: Technical interview
The technical round probes your fundamentals and your resume: OOP concepts, SQL queries, DBMS basics, data structures, your projects, and sometimes a quick coding question on a whiteboard or shared editor.
Open with a crisp 2-minute walkthrough of your best project. Panels typically branch from your project into the fundamentals you claimed — every skill on your resume should be explainable.
Round 2: Managerial / MR round
The managerial round checks attitude, learning ability, and situational judgment — questions like what would you do if a senior does not like your work, how do you handle deadlines, and willingness to relocate or learn new technologies.
Answer with a short structure: what you would do, why, and an example. Managers look for honesty, stability, and a learning mindset more than perfect answers.
Round 3: HR round
The HR round confirms logistics: location preference, joining date, gaps in education, backlogs, family background questions, and why TCS. Be truthful and consistent — HR cross-checks answers against your form and earlier rounds.
Prepare questions to ask: about projects you might get, training duration, and technologies you may work on. It leaves a strong impression.
