Flipkart Grid 2026: Eligibility, Selection Process, and Rounds

Flipkart Grid eligibility criteria, team formation, and selection process — every round from registration to final result for engineering students.

7 min readUpdated 2026-08-09

Flipkart Grid is Flipkart's flagship engineering challenge. Here is who can apply, how teams work, and what each round looks like.

What is Flipkart Grid?

Flipkart Grid is an annual pan-India engineering challenge for engineering students — 2nd, 3rd, and 4th year students across most branches. It combines coding, product-thinking, and machine-learning tracks, with campus interviews for strong performers.

It is often mistaken for a simple hackathon. It is a multi-round competition where the coding and ML tracks are the most competitive, and consistent performance matters more than one strong round.

Eligibility and team rules

Teams are typically 1–3 members (solo is usually allowed), all from the same or different colleges depending on the edition. Verify your edition's official rules — team size and college combinations change between Grid versions.

Most editions allow students across engineering branches and years, with specific cutoff announcements. Read the official eligibility PDF before forming a team.

The selection process round by round

Round 1 is usually an online quiz or aptitude + coding screening for the coding track. The ML track adds a data science screening. Selected teams proceed to a solution submission round where they build a prototype for a given problem statement.

Top teams advance to the finale — a build-and-present round judged by Flipkart engineers. High performers in later rounds can receive interview opportunities with Flipkart.

How to prepare

For the coding track, practice medium DSA (arrays, hashing, trees, DP basics) and timeboxed problem solving — round 1 screens on speed and accuracy. For the ML track, revise pandas, scikit-learn basics, and one end-to-end mini project.

The prototype round rewards a working demo plus clear presentation over a big unfinished idea. Keep scope small, ship a demo, and prepare 3 slides of story.

Where to practice

Use /pyqs for company coding questions, the Flipkart Grid prepare guide at /prepare/flipkart-grid for round details, and mock interviews at /mock-interview for the presentation and interview stages.
