Which skills actually help
For IT services (TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Cognizant): one language you know deeply (Java or Python), SQL, OOP concepts, basic web basics, and DBMS. Add exactly what you can defend in the technical round.
For product companies: add frameworks you shipped with (React, Node, Django), APIs, Git, testing, and cloud basics. Real project evidence for each is non-negotiable.
How to write project bullets for IT roles
Format: verb + what you built + how + result. Example: Built a college placement portal with React and Node.js, implementing JWT auth and role-based dashboards, deployed on Vercel with 15 mock users during testing.
If you have no numbers, use technical scope: authentication, REST APIs, database design, test coverage, deployment. Specificity replaces metrics when metrics do not exist.
